Short Term Goal
-
I will seek job opportunities that can utilize and further cultivate my skills and knowledge during the summer and I aim to continue to review and update this portfolio as a means of reflection and growth every two months.
-
I will register for the National Occupational Therapy Certification Exam (NOTCE) by September 30, 2016 and build a study plan for the months of September, October, and November.
-
By November 2016, I will research and identify local occupational therapists that are willing to mentor and establish a mentor/mentee relationship with them.
-
Within the first year of practice, I hope to identify an area of practice and practice setting that I am interested in and pursue professional development within this area. My goal is to enroll in at least two courses and workshops to further my education and development as a therapist.
Long Term Goal
-
Within 5 years I will contribute to the profession and provide fieldwork supervision to an occupational therapy student. In addition, one year prior to taking my first student I will research and/or attend a professional development course related to fieldwork supervision.
-
My long-term goal as a therapist is to continually grow and learn as a practitioner and individual. I hope that I am challenged every day and pushed to explore areas outside of my comfort zone. Through this personal self-discovery, I will continually become better and improve which inherently will enable me to bring my best self to my practice and for my clients.
-
I hope to cultivate meaningful, respectful, and valuable relationships with clients, colleagues, and students within my practice setting.
